The Small Cards of the Tarot

I’ve today published The Small Cards of the Tarot, an extended essay analysing the small cards of the Tarot in terms of the framework presented in A Qabalistic Framework (that essay being included in the print version), and in terms of their astrological and elemental attributions.

It is available from lulu in a 116 page perfect-bound 6″ x 9″ book format for $6.85 (the cost of printing). A PDF version is available for free download from lulu, and from this website.

93 Erwin,

Very cool, especially that it is all analyzed in a specifically Thelemic context (also a specifically Erwinian Qabalistic framework but yours generally fits in with the traditional models in most ways). In formatting the PDF there are about 10+ completely blank pages (although there are still headers) that you might want to look into.

In formatting the PDF there are about 10+ completely blank pages (although there are still headers) that you might want to look into.

When printing, the blank pages are there to ensure that the chapters, table of contents etc always start on a right hand page, so they are deliberate. There are also always some blank pages at the end to make sure that:

1. the last page at least is completely blank; and
2. the total number of pages is divisible by four, as the pages are printed as double sheets.

I guess I could create a separate PDF for electronic viewing only, but I’m too lazy. For electronic viewing, at some point I’ll convert it to HTML and just put it up as web pages, that’s easier to read than a PDF anyway.

93,

Its not concern to me, I just thought I would point it out in case you missed it and it was a formatting issue. I would love to see an essay on how the Trumps dictate a sequence of (Thelemic) initiation. “All these Wheels be one; yet of all these the Wheel of the TARO alone avails thee consciously…Five wheels are mentioned in this chapter; all but the third refer to the universe as it is; but the wheel of the Tarot is not only this, but represents equally the Magickal Path.” Lon wrote a few good comments on the Trumps in the Thoth deck but there is much (potentially infinite) more to say about this, especially in a specifically Thelemic context.
